A straight answer on Dubai proposal cost — from entry-level packages to AED 450,000 productions, and everything in between.
A Dubai proposal starts from AED 2,999 and can go well past AED 70,000. But the number on the invoice is rarely where the real surprises happen. After planning hundreds of proposals across 20 years in Dubai hospitality, the conversations I remember most are not about price. They are about what people did not know they were paying for, what they thought they could skip, and the AED 450,000 proposal where I watched the bride quietly wish it was simpler.
Here is what pricing in this city actually looks like — from the packages to the hidden costs, and the honest truth about whether spending more gets you a better result.

What your money buys: the real price ranges
Dubai proposal costs fall into three clear tiers. Here is what each one actually gets you.
Entry level: AED 2,999 – 3,299
These are fully managed, professionally run proposals. You get a private photographer and videographer, a coordinated surprise, decor, and a custom handbag bouquet. You are choosing from a set menu rather than building from scratch — but the output is solid and the moment is real. This is a great starting point if you want everything handled without a large budget.
Mid-range: AED 6,000 – 15,000 most popular
This is where most clients land, and where I personally think the value is strongest. At this level you can access private beach setups at five-star hotels like Atlantis The Palm, Nikki Beach, Anantara The Palm, One & Only Royal Mirage, and One & Only The Palm. You can do a desert proposal with a full gazebo, butler-served dinner, belly dancers, and a fire show. You can propose on a 52-foot private yacht. You can have a rooftop terrace facing the Burj Khalifa with 1,500 LED candles surrounding you.
The Half Desert Candlelit Romance sits at AED 9,999. The yacht proposal on a 52ft vessel is AED 6,999 + VAT. These are not compromise packages — they are genuinely extraordinary experiences.
Ultra-luxury: AED 70,000 and above
At this level, there is no ceiling. Custom drone shows, private access to the Bulgari terrace, 10,000 candles spread across a private desert space, a pre-wedding shoot across the city in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan followed by a sunset catamaran proposal, private fireworks, or a proposal on the Burj Al Arab helipad 212 metres above the sea. These are not packages. They are full productions, planned over months.
All prices are subject to 5% VAT. Credit card payments carry an additional 3% processing fee. Bank transfer avoids this.
The mistake that costs more than money
Before anything else, I need to tell you this.
A client once came to me wanting a deep desert proposal — the red dunes, the golden hour light, the full experience. He also wanted to cut costs and suggested he could drive himself and his partner out there instead of using the private 4×4 transfer.
What he did not know — and what most people do not — is that driving to a deep desert setup is nothing like driving to a hotel. You need a licensed, certified 4×4 driver who knows the terrain, can navigate through massive dunes, and can get a couple safely to a location that does not sit on a paved road. It is not a luxury upgrade. It is a necessity.
We sorted it. But this is one of the most common budget-cutting attempts I see, and it almost always comes from people who have never actually been to a deep desert location. The terrain looks gentle in photos. In person, those dunes require the right vehicle, the right driver, and someone who knows exactly what they are doing. The private Nissan Patrol 4×4 transfer is built into every desert package for exactly this reason.

The Dubai proposal costs nobody quotes you upfront
Drone shows and airspace permits
If you want a drone show over Dubai Marina with your partner’s name in the sky, it is possible. But the cost has very little to do with the drones themselves. Dubai is one of the most tightly controlled airspace environments in the world. A drone show needs government permits, venue NOCs (No Objection Certificates from the specific location), and if the event is on or near Palm Jumeirah, a separate NOC from Nakheel — the master developer of the island. Every layer of approval costs money and takes time. The permits alone can be a significant figure before a single drone leaves the ground.
Private fireworks
A three-minute private fireworks show for a beach or desert proposal requires Civil Defence permits, venue approval, safety checks, and in some cases a location-specific NOC. These costs are real, they are not included in any base proposal price, and they vary by location and date. They are always quoted separately.
Live entertainment
A private violinist costs AED 2,999 + VAT. A saxophonist, the same. A singer and musician duo is AED 4,999 + VAT. A private DJ requires a minimum two-hour booking plus DTCM permits quoted separately. Cold pyro sparklers are AED 1,999 + VAT, subject to venue approval — which is not guaranteed at every hotel.

Does spending more mean a better proposal?
Here is something I do not think gets said often enough: some of the most expensive proposals I have ever planned were the worst ones. And some of the cheapest were extraordinary.
“The most emotionally affecting proposal I can recall in recent years cost AED 5,000. She cried. He cried. Watching the footage back, I think I nearly did too.”
People who book budget proposals tend to know exactly what they want. They are focused on her — on the moment, on the surprise, on what she will feel when it happens. That clarity almost always produces a better result.
People who book very expensive proposals sometimes start making the proposal about the spectacle rather than about her. More guests. More performers. More layers. I once coordinated a proposal with a total spend of AED 450,000. The setup was extraordinary. There were performers, there were blonde models lifting a veil off the reveal, there was a production that would have worked in a music video. She said yes. And I could see — standing there, having done this hundreds of times — that she felt like she was in someone else’s moment.
Money buys access, scale, and production value. It does not buy the feeling that this proposal was designed for her, specifically, as an individual. That is a planning conversation — not a budget conversation.

Does hiring a proposal planner save you money?
In some ways, yes. I have long-standing relationships with every major hotel, private beach operator, desert camp, yacht company, and entertainer in this city. That access — and the pricing that comes with it — is simply not available to someone planning independently.
But the more important answer is this: the further outside a standard catalog you go, the more flexibility I have to build something truly personal within your budget. The cheapest packages have fixed costs because everything is pre-arranged. A custom brief gives me room to put spend where it actually matters for your partner.
What a planner cannot replace is judgment. Knowing when to trigger the moment. Knowing where to position the photographer so the surprise reads on camera. Knowing that driving a 4×4 through the deep desert yourself is not an option. These things do not appear on any invoice.
Frequently asked questions
What is the average Dubai proposal cost?
Most clients spend between AED 6,000 and AED 15,000 for a professionally managed proposal with a private venue, decor, photography, videography, and dinner. Entry-level packages start at AED 2,999. Ultra-luxury and fully bespoke experiences begin at AED 70,000. Understanding what is included — and what is separate — is where the real planning happens.
Why is a drone proposal in Dubai so expensive?
Dubai airspace is highly regulated. A drone show requires government permits, venue NOCs, and on Palm Jumeirah, a separate NOC from Nakheel. These approvals are expensive, time-intensive, and entirely separate from the drone operator’s fee. Anyone quoting a low price for a drone show in Dubai has either not secured the permits or is not planning to.
Can I drive myself to a deep desert proposal?
No — and this is one of the most common planning mistakes. Deep desert setups need a licensed, certified 4×4 driver who knows the terrain. The dunes between your car and the proposal location cannot be safely navigated in a standard vehicle. The private 4×4 transfer is included in all desert packages for exactly this reason.
Do budget proposals work as well as expensive ones?
Sometimes better. Clients with smaller budgets tend to be more focused on the person they are proposing to, rather than the production. The most memorable proposals I have planned have not always been the most expensive. What matters most is whether the experience was designed around her — her personality, what she values, what she will feel in that moment.
What is not included in the quoted price?
5% VAT applies to all packages. Credit card payments carry a 3% processing fee. For live entertainment, DTCM permits are quoted separately as they vary by venue. For drone shows, fireworks, or performances near regulated areas like Palm Jumeirah, government permits and NOCs are additional and quoted per event. Every line item in every Proposal Dubai quote is itemised — there are no surprise charges.
Is photography included in all packages?
Yes. Every package includes a private professional photographer and videographer. Equipment includes cinematic cameras, GoPros for surprise capture angles, and an Insta 360 camera on a 3M selfie stick for aerial-style shots. Deliverables include 100 edited photos, 10 super-edited photos, a highlight video up to 2 minutes, an Instagram reel up to 1 minute, and all raw content.
How far in advance should I book?
Standard packages need a minimum of 2–3 weeks. Bespoke or ultra-luxury experiences need 4–8 weeks for full coordination. Drone shows, fireworks, or proposals requiring government permits or venue NOCs need significantly longer — approvals cannot be rushed.
