Can anyone book the Burj Al Arab helipad for a proposal?
No. It requires hotel approval, security clearance and strict weight and safety limits at that height. Approval is not guaranteed and I take no deposit until your date is confirmed.
How far in advance should I enquire?
As early as possible, and eight weeks is a sensible minimum. Clearances take time and dates are limited. There is no fast version of this.
Are there restrictions on how many people can be up there?
Yes, strict ones, driven by weight distribution and safety rather than preference. Numbers are agreed with the hotel and cannot be changed on the day.
Is this suitable for someone uneasy with heights?
No. Two hundred and twelve metres up on an open platform is not the place to test it. If there is any doubt, propose somewhere she can enjoy.
What makes this different from a rooftop proposal?
Rooftops are booked. This is an aviation platform on a landmark building, released rarely and cleared individually. The difference is access, not decor.
